Support for Ohio customers affected by recent storms

Posted on March 09, 2018

Recent severe weather in Ohio led Governor Kasich to declare a State of Emergency on February 24, 2018. In response, the Ohio Department of Insurance (DOI) has issued Bulletin 2018-01, requesting that insurance carriers allow affected customers the option to defer premium payments up to 60 calendar days from the original due date. In addition, any policy provision that is time-sensitive, such as submitting claim information, will be extended by 60 days as well.

This extension will apply from March 7, 2018, to May 24, 2018, and is currently in effect for Columbiana, Jefferson, Belmont, Monroe, Washington, Athens, Meigs, Gallia, Lawrence, Scioto, Adams, Brown, Clermont, Hamilton, Hocking, Jackson and Muskingum Counties.
